8 Days Climb Kilimanjaro -Lemosho Route
Description
Day 1: Arrival
- Arrive in Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
- Transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
- Briefing with your guide and final gear check.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate (2,385m) to Big Tree Camp (2,780m)
- Transfer to Londorossi Gate for registration.
- Begin the trek through lush rainforest.
- Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
Day 3: Big Tree Camp (2,780m) to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)
- Gradually ascend through the rainforest.
- Enter the heath and moorland zone.
- Trekking time: 5-6 hours.
Day 4: Shira 1 Camp (3,505m) to Shira 2 Camp (3,810m)
- Trek across the Shira Plateau.
- Gain altitude and start to feel the effects of altitude.
- Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
Day 5: Shira 2 Camp (3,810m) to Barranco Camp (3,960m) via Lava Tower (4,630m)
- Ascend to the Lava Tower for acclimatization.
- Descend to Barranco Valley for overnight.
- Trekking time: 6-8 hours.
Day 6: Barranco Camp (3,960m) to Karanga Camp (3,995m)
- Conquer the Barranco Wall.
- Traverse alpine desert terrain.
- Trekking time: 4-5 hours.
Day 7: Karanga Camp (3,995m) to Barafu Camp (4,673m)
- Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt.
- Rest and prepare for the summit push.
- Trekking time: 3-4 hours.
Day 8: Summit Attempt – Barafu Camp (4,673m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) and descent to Mweka Camp (3,100m)
- Start the summit push around midnight.
- Reach Stella Point (5,739m) at the rim of the crater.
- Continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
- Descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest.
- Continue descending to Mweka Camp for the night.
- Trekking time: 11-15 hours.
Day 9: Mweka Camp (3,100m) to Mweka Gate (1,640m)
- Descend through the rainforest.
- Arrive at Mweka Gate, receive summit certificates, and say goodbye to your crew.
- Transfer back to your hotel for a well-deserved celebration and rest.
