Here’s a basic outline of a 7-day climb up Kilimanjaro using the Machame Route, one of the most scenic and popular routes:
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
- Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
- Meet with your trekking company, finalize preparations, and have a briefing with your guide.
- Rest and prepare for the trek ahead. Ensure you have all necessary gear and supplies.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
- After breakfast, drive to the Machame Gate (around 1-2 hours from Moshi or Arusha), where you’ll complete park formalities.
- Begin the trek through the lush rainforest, gradually ascending to Machame Camp (around 3,000 meters or 9,800 feet).

Day 8: Descent to Mweka Gate and Departure
